Taste tests with Peter Klosse
Peter Klosse | 19,50 euro | 90 min | Dutch spokenVoorstelling: Saturday 10 May 17:30 | De Grote Studio
The basis for culinary pleasure is tasting. The tasting of different
flavours, is the fundamental decision-maker for most people. Yet you can
taste, and you can taste. In this seminar, you'll learn from no other
than the taste professor, Peter Klosse, founder of the Academy for
Gastronomy.
Sweet; salty; bitter; sour and umami - the five taste sensations that form the palette of what taste is. But what actually happens in your mouth, and can you cook differently if you know how the flavours work? Peter Klosse makes a distinction between flavour and taste. Flavour is what products have, and taste is what people do. This new perspective provides useful insights for all lovers of cuisine who enjoy standing in the kitchen, and discovering new flavours.
With delicious examples, Peter will explain his theories. A truly special event, since he is the only individual in the Netherlands who possesses a Phd in taste. Sometimes, he'll explain in detail, and then an overview of the bigger picture. Chances are that after this seminar, you'll leave with new ideas for dishes in the kitchen, so be prepared for a theoretical lesson in gastronomy.
