Food Film Festival moves to Westergasfabriek!
After three fantastic, sold-out editions, the Food Film Festival has outgrown its base at Amsterdam’s Studio/K cinema. Time for a new location and a new date. The fourth edition of the festival will take place at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam on 9, 10 and 11 May.
The Food Film Festival will be held in and around the Westergasfabriek, Het Ketelhuis cinema and the MC Theater. The move means more space to enjoy the festival and, in May, a greater chance of sun! Three days will be dedicated to film and food. Besides the best food films, the festival offers dozens of workshops with professional chefs, an artisanal market, inspiring speakers and debates on the most pressing food issues. In addition, our own festival chef Joris Bijdendijk from restaurant Bridges (where he recently earned his first Michelin star) is moving with us and this year faces his biggest challenge yet: setting up the temporary FFF Restaurant in one of the Westergasfabriek’s empty, industrial halls.
The programme is currently being finalised, but we can already give you a taste of what is to come. As this year’s logo by English photographer Alexander Kent suggests, the fourth edition will explore modern fish consumption. Find out exactly where things stand during The Great Fishing Debate. In the meantime, visit www.foodfilmfestival.nl for a peek at the first confirmed film.
From today, the website will be updated with all the latest news on Food Film Festival 2014 and at the end of the month a small number of exclusive tickets will go on sale. Do you want to guarantee your place in the FFF Restaurant for lunch? Then keep a close eye on this website.
