FFF at Bouwplaats Festival

FFF at Bouwplaats Festival

The FFF is going to make a detour on March 29th and 30th! Together with the YFM and Kimchi, the Food Film Festival will be set up in miniature in the old Volkskrant building on the Wibaustraat in Amsterdam.

At the moment, the whole compartment of the Volkskrant building is surrounded in scaffolds and is under construction to become the Volkshotel. The yet empty hotel rooms and other unoccupied spaces will be filled up with bursting creativity from people working in the building as well as other unique cultural initiatives coming from the city. Even in the tiniest corners of the building you can expect mobile parties, performances and surprising installations.

Kimchi especially invited the Food Film Festival together with the YFM for Bouwplaats Festival. A fine selection of food shorts from previous editions will be presented, completely suited in Food Film Festival. Moreover, you can prepare your own vegetable chips at the FFF stand and take them with you inside the cinema! Both on Saturday and Sunday we are located on the first floor of the building between 14:00 pm till 23:00 pm. For tickets and more information about Bouwplaats Festival go to the Facebook page of the event. Or get your ticket here.

FFF program during Bouwplaats

Make vegetable chips with Krispijn
Remember the moment when you discovered you could make chips from potatoes? Come join us during our travel through time and relive the making of chips and take them with you while watching a film. Farmer and passionate YFM member Krispijn van den Dries will provide purple potatoes, beets, root parsley and many other vegetables to fry.

Films continuously shown in FFF cinema

Murder Mouth
Madeleine Parry
Everything we eat once lived. To eat means to kill. Thus, in order to eat you should be able to kill for it. From this point of view, the 21 year old Australian Maddy took an unusual experiment. Maddy decided quite laconic to kill for her own food.

No Hay Pan
Macarena Monros
In the film No Hay Pan we follow the Chilean Luis, owner of a small local shop. For years he sells bread from baker Carlos. When Carlos all of a sudden dies, Luis needs to find himself a new bread supplier. Together with the touching Luis we go along in search for bread.

Super
Johan Klungel
We have all been there: well organized with a list of 'what-to-buy' we go to the supermarket, but once inside all your plans are set aside. Amusing fact: Film maker Johan Klugel worked a long time in the old volkskrant building where this animation almost completely has been created and was made.

Dans le Couchon tout est bon
Iris Alexandre
A short animation which embodies the principal nose to tail in a beautiful way. Everything about the pig is beautiful except for the scream.

Happy Meat
Marc ter Horst - type-b
The meat processing industry creates products appearing nothing like the animals that they were made from. All because it sells better. The same way the toy industry simplifies and characterizes animal shapes. In the Happy meat project from type-b, function and aesthetics of both worlds are inconveniently combined.
