We live in an age of declining food security. The price of commodities is skyrocketing and producers get less and less in return. This price rise is largely driven by high oil prices, and farmers are increasingly dependent on machines and transport companies to produce and distribute their food.
Fortunately, a growing number of initiatives are taking back control of the food system. This short documentary by Ben Mann shows the importance of the link between farmers and urban consumers and a budding food revolution.
Best Before includes commentary from Tim Lang, who was the keynote speaker at last year’s Food Film Festival.
PLEASE NOTE: Best Before will be shown as part of the short film programme Not-so-super-market. Tickets are available under that entry. Giuseppe Cioffo, the co-director, will be present after the screenings for a Q&A.
