Philosophy

The aim of the Youth Food Movement’s events is to inspire people to make conscious choices about what they eat. The chefs in the Food Film Festival restaurant have also been challenged to create a menu that is good, clean and fair. 
 

Fresh: The most important starting point for the FFF kitchen is of course that everything is home-made. We only work with natural products – prefab products don't even make it through the kitchen door. Even the bread is baked fresh every day by the Vlaamsch Broodhuys.
 
Less meat: We are aware that a better world means eating less meat and fish. We have chosen to include some meat on the menu, but vegetable dishes feature prominently.


Local: One of the challenges is to maximise our use of local and seasonal products. In March in the Netherlands, that’s not always easy. Even so, we believe we have created an exciting menu, 80% of which is made from products that are locally sourced
