Leuk tentje

This year, Timorplein is not just the stage for farmers and artisanal producers; musical talent will also get a chance to shine. In and around the ‘Leuk tentje’ festival tent we have organised a free programme of singer-songwriters, DJs, bands and an open mic night.

	Friday 22 March | Saturday 23 March 18.00 - 22.00 DJ Snef Jeffrey van Asselt (DJ Snef) is a familiar face in Studio/K and Club Up. He also organises soul, funk and hip-hop nights in Poppodium De Meester in Almere, and the concept night 'MONO' in BG-22-24 full of experimental electronic live music and beats. At the Food Film Festival he will keep you entertained between performances with a mix of surprising new records and golden oldies.
	Friday 22 March | Saturday 23 March 18.00 - 22.00 JNM  Our host on Friday and Saturday is Jennifer Muntslag. She is a born entertainer who has always felt comfortable in the spotlight. Singing and dancing in front of the mirror was a daily ritual when she was young. Unsurprisingly, the mirror has now been exchanged for the stage. As host and MC, she is better known as J.N.M, The Naked MC.
	Friday 22 March 19.30 - 20.30 Open mic night On Friday evening, poets, spoken-word artists and singer-songwriters are invited to show off their talents between the food trucks, hay bales and fire pits. 	Friday 22 March 21.00 - 21.45 Ten-Hut The seven-piece band Ten-Hut has been touring the country for seven years and can increasingly be found on stages in Germany and France. Their pop songs are characterised by different cultural influences inspired by their travels, for example to the Middle East. Ten-Hut is renowned for its innovative music style and energetic performances.
	Saturday 23 March 14.00 - 15.00 Meet the farmer To connect city dwellers with food producers, we are organising a meet and greet with real farmers and gardeners. Ask them everything you’ve ever wanted to know: How many days per year to cows graze outside? What exactly are battery farms? Krispijn van den Dries (organic gardener) and Jan Kuijpers (poultry farmer) will be on hand to answer all your questions.
	Saturday 23 March 19.00-19.20 | 20.00-20.20 Emil Landman Emil Landman (1989) graduated last year from the Herman Brood Academy in Utrecht. His lyrics are pure, personal and at the same time universal, the melodies and guitar playing compelling. For his debut EP, Emil worked with New Yorker Larry D. Brown (Grey Reverend). Together with later work, these songs make up A Bargain between Beggars, which was released on 1 February.
	Saturday 23 March 21.00 - 21.30 BomberLéo BomberLéo is Leonie Klooster's one-woman band. With a kick-drum, hi-hatt, electric guitar, kazoo and vocals she will play a catchy rock ’n’ roll set. She takes her musical inspiration from rock ’n’ roll, blues and country greats such as Melanie Safka, The Kinks, The Stray Cats and Johnny Cash. She is currently working on an album which is due for release at the end of 2013.
	Sunday 24 March 15.00 - 16.00 Book presentation Alain Caron Chef Alain Caron will give a sneak preview of his new book Le Tour D'Alain – a culinary journey through France, which will be published after the festival. With stories told in Alain’s unique style and plenty of time to meet the author and ask questions. Encroyable!
	Sunday 24 March 18.00 - 21.00 Pirate Cinema Pirate Cinema is a recycled DIY machine: a five-wheel bicycle installation that moves, produces energy, and even shows spectacular multimedia performances while being controlled by three people. During the Food Film Festival, a film will be screened on the bike, using energy generated by the solar panels on the pedals.
